From my first meeting, I knew, I was in expert hands with Chandra Medlin owner of TMKB, INC. I had envisioned my dream kitchen but I didn't have a magazine picture to show her what I wanted. So our first meeting was a long conversation. Myself describing the picture I've had in my head for the longest time, the feeling I wanted to achieve, the colors, the size – after all, when family and friends come over, inevitably, everyone ends up in the kitchen - so lets make it a big comfortable room for everybody. She listened…

I want Coastal Casual, I don't want fussy but it must still feel elegant, I want it to be the focus of the home without it being overwhelming, I want the layout to make sense and be user friendly for multiple cooks in the kitchen, I want a an olive green island – a color I had pictured in my minds eye but had nothing to show her an example of. She understood…

I asked her, "If you were designing your dream kitchen, what must you have in it? I have my own ideas but you are the expert - I am open to your suggestions." She gently interjected ideas that enhanced the picture I had in my mind. Let's build it…

She made me feel so confidently at ease that Kitchen Cabinetry quickly blossomed into Bookcases to frame the Fireplaces, a Credenza to maximize my husband's Office space, Vanities for both Guest Bathrooms and Powder Bath, brainstorming and redesigning the Laundry/Kennel room so that my three Weimaraners have their own space in the home, redesigning the Master Closets in a way that made more sense in the space and the Master Bath –arguably the most important room in a home. As you enter the Master Bath, your first sight is of an Art Wall that gives nothing away of the room you are about to enter. Inside, she created a dual space – a Jack and Jill – with separate Vanity and Water Closets for him/her where they meet in a spacious shower with his/her entryways and dual showers heads. Tucked behind the shower is a Jacuzzi Whirpool tub. It's a magnificent bathroom. She designed it…

As I witnessed the cabinetry take shape through installation, it occurred to me that her approach to this project was not merely build cabinets and install. It became apparent that her approach to the cabinetry was design as artwork. Aha! It is so important when you find someone who has this talent, vision and passion for their craft. For it is the customer who ultimately benefits from this beauty in cabinetry in their home- it adds value, warmth and an added richness to the home that is difficult to duplicate any other way.

I will always be grateful to TMKB, INC. and Chandra Medlin for what her artistic approach to cabinetry has added to my home. I smile in every room of my home and she is in a very important way responsible for that.

Thank you, Always!
